Bristle Fibre
Long, strong fibres used for brushes and brooms. The basic grade is known as 1Tie fibre, then further hackled and classified into 2Tie and 3Tie based on strand length and general condition.
- Un-hackled or hackled — 1Tie, 2Tie or 3Tie
- Waxed or oiled
- Bleached or dyed in different colours
- Uncut, or cut to various lengths
Used for: coir twine, brush and tawashi manufacture, potting mixes/growing media, special filters, and reinforcing fibre mixtures in mattress manufacturing.
Geo Textiles
100% biodegradable coir geotextile mats, made from hand-twisted or machine-spun yarn, for soil bioengineering and erosion control on stream banks, slopes, wetlands, hillside soils and golf course development.
- 100% environmentally friendly and slow to decompose
- Highly resistant to UV degradation versus synthetic mats
- Handles high water velocities; promotes seed germination and hydroseeding results
- Decomposes eventually into mulch for the vegetation it protected
- Cost-effective versus synthetic mats — lasts 2–5 years depending on application
